Despite near impossible time restraints, the electrical installation on this suburban mid-rise was completed on schedule. In an unusual set of circumstances, Malko was awarded the contract after the structure had been erected. Malko has been retained to oversee maintenance of this north suburban office facility.

NEIMAN-MARCUS

 The breath-taking arch that surround the Neiman-Marcus Michigan Avenue entrance has been acclaimed by design and architectural experts alike. A barrel-vaulted ceiling, filled with hundreds of fluorescent lights creates a magnificent threshold for this sophisticated retailer. Malko Electric won the prestigious Chicago Lighting Institute Award of Merit for Lighting excellence for this installation.

OLYMPIA CENTER

Gracing Chicago's Magnificent Mile is the award-winning Olympia Center. Home of offices, luxury condominiums and world famous retailer Neiman-Marcus, this sixty-plus story high-rise represents over 1,000,000 square feet of space, comprising the third tallest concrete structure in Chicago.

ONTERIE CENTER

Malko is proud to have been an integral part of the Onterie Center project. This award-winning sixty-story diagonal brace structure is dedicated to respected structural engineer and designer, the late Fazlur Khan. As project electrical contractor, Malko's responsibilities encompassed nearly 600 apartment units, a health club, office and retail space and an elaborate security system featuring: a closed-circuit TV monitoring system, card reader controlled access system and garage-level panic buttons. Continued electrical maintenance for the facility is provided by Malko.

INTERCONTINENTAL TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM INSTALLATION

One of the first intercontinental teleconferencing facilities of its kind in Chicago was installed by Malko Electric at Onterie Center. Leased by Electronic Meetings Inc., this public teleconference facility features two-way visual/audio communication. The rooftop satellite dish sends and receives messages around the world and is operated by remote control from the opposite tower on Onterie Center. Sophisticated technology and painstaking attention to detail characterized this futuristic installation.

An exciting addition to Chicago's Illinois Center complex is the luxurious Swiss Grand Hotel. Featuring over 600 guest rooms, this executive class hotel boasts an impressive array of conference and entertainment facilities. Installation highlights include a teleconferencing center with a complete TV production studio: a fitness center featuring indoor courts, swimming pool, whirpool, sauna and steam bath: and a grand ballroom crowned with a breathtaking chandelier, measuring 56 feet long and weighing 17,000 pounds.

ISD INCORPORATED

Renovated loft building interiors are frequently redesigned with exposed structural support members, traditionally concealed in new construction. Such was the case with the ISD loft rehab. For Malko, this meant a flawless installation and the unique challenge of incorporating electrical wiring into the visible design.

CANTEEN COMPANY
Chicago

 Time and scheduling restraints were two major challenges faced by Malko in performing the electrical installation for Canteen Company. A turn key package, encompassing over 90,000 square feet of space, including all computer operations, was completed in less than three months. Canteen operated with business as usual throughout the move from the Merchandise Mart to their new offices at 222 North LaSalle. Malko coordinated construction and installation schedules to insure that not a day of business was lost- at either Canteen location.
